Tuesday 02 May 2017

The trial of a 38-year-old woman accused of causing the death of three-year-old Clinton Pringle by dangerous driving is set to begin on 13 June for up to four days in Jersey's Royal Court.

Rebekah Le Gal is pleading not guilty to the charge.

The incident happened on 27 June last year on Tunnell Street next to the Millennium Park. The three-year-old boy, of Moodiesburn near Glasgow, was on holiday in Jersey when it happened. He was airlifted to Southampton where he died from his injuries a few days later.

Ms Le Gal is being defended by Advocate Matthew Jowitt.

Ten witnesses will give evidence for the prosecution, led by HM Solicitor General Mark Temple, during the trial, including two experts.

Mrs Le Gal has been remanded on bail until the trial date.
