Islanders taking part in the State Street Island Walk set off today on the 48-mile trek around Jersey to raise money for local charities.
It is the 27th annual 'around-the-island' walk and today’s participants can expect a challenging time.
The event has been split into three categories:
Over the past few decades more than 20,000 participants have taken part in the walk and raised over £2,077,000 with every penny raised by walkers being distributed to local charities.
This year will be no different with over 1,000 walkers signed up to take part in today’s challenge.
