Visitor number restrictions lifted in hospital

Friday 13 May 2022

Patients in hospital can now have more than two named visitors in hospital after the covid restriction was lifted.

There is also no longer a requirement for visitors to be named in advance.

However, visitors must still only visit a patient one at a time, so visitors are asked to co-ordinate their visits to see patients.

They must also continue to wear masks during their visit, and are asked to carry out a lateral flow test in advance of attending the hospital.

If they feel unwell or have covid symptoms, they are asked not to attend.

The restrictions were originally introduced earlier this year to stem the spread of covid among patients and staff.

According to statistics released by Government yesterday, five people in hospital have covid.

Across the rest of the island, there were 231 officially recorded cases.
