WATCH: Hospital staff reassure islanders of covid control measures

Thursday 19 November 2020

Nurses are reassuring islanders about the infection control measures in place at the hospital to keep staff, patients and visitors safe in light of recent covid cases.

In the series of videos in both English and Portuguese, lead nurses Wendy Baugh and Valter Fernandes take viewers on a tour of the hospital showing the precautions in place.

The videos were published around the same time it was announced that a ward at the hospital would close for 10 days, after another covid case was identified. It brought the number of cases in the hospital on Tuesday to four.

A Health spokesperson emphasised that none of the patients were in hospital due to covid. They were being treated for other conditions.
