For the first time ever, Jersey's Wimbledon fans will have someone from a little closer to home to cheer on today than Andy Murray.
Although 'channel islander' Heather Watson went out of the tournament yesterday, losing in three sets to Victoria Azarenka, Jersey man Scott Clayton will be hoping to go one better and reach the tournament's second week when he takes to the court today in the Men's Doubles.
Along with his partner Jonny O'Mara, Scott will play top seeds Henri Kontinen and John Peers on court 14 at 11:30.
The 23-year-old, ranked 253 in the world for doubles, was awarded a wildcard in the draw for the men's doubles and is the first Jerseyman to play in the Championships.
The pairs' first-round opponents Adrian Mannarino and Paolo Lorenzi retired during the second set.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Scott said: "We wouldn't have had this opportunity without the wildcard, which we're really thankful for. We're happy that we've used it well to get ourselves into the second round."
