Pictured: The brief for the project was to develop “flexible accommodation suitable for light industry use”.
The development would be led by Red 5 Ltd. The architect for the project is Lovell Ozanne.
Their application is to “erect 18 light industrial units with associated parking and landscaping, alterations to vehicle access and erect signage”. Access would be from Braye Road.
Previous proposals for further developments along or near Braye Road have provoked considerable public interest and some opposition, although the Braye Road Industrial Estate is long established and identified as a key industrial area in the Island Development Plan.
“Our client will be providing an area of photovoltaic (PV) solar panels to generate electricity that will power two electric vehicles,” said Lovell Ozanne in the planning application to the Development & Planning Authority.
“[This will] be provided as part of the development and will be rented to the various tenants which will assist in providing a sustainable development.”
The application states that the units would be low maintenance, a variety of sizes and include a mezzanine space possibly to be used as offices.
