The Awards celebrate local charities, businesses and individuals who have raised money, delivered services and undertaken community projects for the benefit of the whole Bailiwick.
“This is an extra special year for us,” said Jim Roberts, Chief Executive of the Guernsey Community Foundation. “Not only is this our 10th anniversary year, but the awards follow a period of intense activity across the sector,”
“Charities and volunteers went above and beyond to help the island respond to COVID-19. The Community Awards are a fantastic way to celebrate what the voluntary sector has achieved in these challenging times.”
Last year’s winners were Paws for Support, who were shortlisted alongside Bowel Cancer Guernsey and Guernsey Society for Cancer Relief. Paws for Support received the award in recognition of its work with therapeutic aid animals.
Nominations for the 2020 Community Awards will be open from August 14 to September 11. Self-nominations are welcome.
