Sir Richard will be joined by Oscar Pearson as the evening’s compere, and Liberate’s Rainbow Chorus choir will entertain guests during the evening.
“We are honoured that Sir Richard has agreed to join us to celebrate the achievements of the voluntary sector, and to present the awards to the winners,” said Jim Roberts, Chief Executive of the Guernsey Community Foundation.
“As a well-respected and popular community figure, as well as a great supporter of the island’s charities, he was our first choice for speaker.”

Tickets for the awards, which are sponsored by Ravenscroft, sold out within a week, setting a new record.
The event will mark the tenth anniversary of the Community Foundation.
“During the evening we will be showcasing some of the remarkable charities that the foundation has supported, as well as celebrating the success of many individuals, groups and voluntary organisations who have all gone that extra mile,” continued Mr Roberts.
Three voluntary groups have been shortlisted in each of the seven awards categories, with every group being recognised for their ‘outstanding’ work on behalf of the community. The nominees will be announced in the first week of November.
“We’re delighted by the strength of this year’s nominees and very much look forward to welcoming them to the event, along with the Awards sponsors and members of the public,” added Jason Green, Chair of the Judging Panel.
