Brittany Ferries is aiming for continued growth on its Guernsey network with its 2026 schedules out now, offering up to 20 sailings per week to and from the island.
The ferry firm took over Guernsey’s high speed passenger and traditional ferry, and freight services earlier this year after taking over Condor Ferries.
It had won out locally in the pan-island tender process which saw Guernsey and Jersey choose different operators.
Since Guernsey went with Brittany Ferries, the island has reported an increased number of French day trippers in particular with bookings said to be up across all services, compared to 2024.
Brittany Ferries has now released its 2026 schedules earlier than they have been over the past few years.
It means passengers can now book for travel between Guernsey and France, the UK, and Jersey through to November next year.
The 2026 schedules closely mirror that of 2025, says Brittany Ferries.
There are “up to eight return sailings per week to St Malo” and “departures on six days each week to Poole and Portsmouth”.
The 2026 schedule “builds on the success of the current year and supports the island’s tourism and hospitality partners of hotels, restaurants and range of attractions through a consistent timetable and early publication”.
Christophe Mathieu, CEO of Brittany Ferries and Condor Ferries, said it’s a sign of the firm’s ongoing commitment to the island.
“We’re excited to launch our 2026 sailings, giving customers the chance to plan ahead for the next 12 months. Booking early means the best choice of sailings and accommodation – especially popular options like pet-friendly and superior cabins – and lets returning travellers secure their 2026 trip on their return home.”
The 2026 schedule will see a continuation of the early morning arrivals from St Malo, bringing visitors into St Peter Port Harbour for day trips – with evening returns – or longer stays.
Brittany Ferries said these timings have proven very popular with visitors this year.
There will also be a mix of conventional and high speed sailings to Portsmouth and Poole.
Mr Mathieu said Brittany Ferries have seen growth on the UK and France services this year compared with 2024 so they’re looking to continue that next year.
“Brittany Ferries exists to connect people, facilitate trade and enrich the regions we serve.
“This is the earliest we have launched our Channel Islands’ timetable, so is as we promised in the tender last year. This is also important for our travel trade partners in the UK and continental Europe, as it allow them to plan further ahead, increase group bookings and broaden distribution.”
Brittany Ferries is also encouraging passengers who want to, to connect onwards to services to Spain and Ireland via the UK with discounted sailings available.
