The latest data shows there are currently 350 people looking for work in Guernsey – with another 56 people on States run training schemes or other placements.
Employment and Social Security says the number of jobseekers without any work at all has decreased since earlier this year, and since last year.
There were 259 ‘jobseekers without work’ registered with ESS in March – the latest data available. That’s down 52 since March 2024, and down eight since February this year.
The number of ‘jobseekers with some work’ has gone up slightly though. It’s now at 91 people, that’s gone up by six between February and March.
Those 91 people will be doing some part time or casual work but they are looking for permanent roles.
The 56 people on training schemes included projects such as Work2Benefit, Kickstart, and placements with the third sector.
