The States announced this expansion in the Bailiwick’s vaccination programme this morning. They will now identify islanders in their 40s and aged 16 or 17 and invite them to receive their boosters or second doses.

The States’ announcement followed confirmation from the UK Government earlier in the day that it accepted the advice of the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) to offer boosters to 40-49 year olds and second doses to 16 and 17 year olds.

The States are reminding people not to attend the community vaccination centre at Beau Sejour if they are unwell or, if they have recently been diagnosed with covid-19, to wait 28 days from the date of their positive diagnosis before booking a vaccine appointment.
