Les Bourgs Hospice, a charity fully reliant on donations and the support of the public, has received £5,500 after a bespoke piece of jewellery was raffled.
The white gold Christmas charm has a lab-grown diamond sunbeam design, and was created by local jeweller, Becky Rowe.
Tickets to enter the charities ‘Snowflake Raffle’ sold at £5 a pop, with 1,100 shifting. The lucky winner received £1,000 towards a bespoke piece made by Ms Rowe.
“I still can’t believe I won. The white gold pendant that Becky made for me is absolutely stunning,” said the anonymous winner.
“It’s so special to have something bespoke that I’ll treasure forever and knowing that the raffle helped raise money for our local hospice makes it even more meaningful.”
The piece’s creator, Becky Rowe, added: ”Seeing the winner’s pendant finished feels like the perfect ending to a really positive community project.
“It was heartwarming to see so many people get involved, and knowing the raffle raised over £5,000 for such an important local cause means so much to us.”
Becky Rowe also covered all costs associated with the raffle, and Two Degrees North Design + Advertising provided the artwork.
