Six young islanders have been named as Lieutenant-Governor’s Cadets in the latest round of investments.
The Lieutenant-Governor presented the cadets with their medal at a ceremony at Government House, attended by their friends and families, to formally mark their appointments.
Sir Richard Cripwell, Lieutenant-Governor, said: “The breadth and depth of commitment shown by applicants, across a variety of community and young groups has been very impressive, making this year’s selection particularly difficult.
“I look forward to working with the new Lieutenant-Governor’s Cadets and encourage those not selected to consider reapplying next year if they are able to.”
The new cadets are:
- Hannah Falla, St John Ambulance Cadets
- Harry Blackwell, Elizabeth College Combined Cadet Force
- George Dyer, Guernsey Scout Association – Explorers
- Emilie Waylen, Guernsey Sea Cadets
- Bella Hughes, 7th St Stephen’s Rangers, Girl Guiding Guernsey
- Jane Van Der Wett, St Sampson’s High School
