Tony Creasey has retired from Les Bourgs’ Board of Trustees after nearly 30 years supporting the charity.

His tenure began in 1996, and spanned a period of “significant growth” according to Les Bourgs, including his pivotal role in the Hospice’s major rebuild and reopening in 2011.

Mr Creasey described his three decades involved with Les Bourgs as “an incredible privilege”.

“The Hospice has become such an important part of the Guernsey community — and it’s a surprisingly happy place to be. I’m proud to have played a small part in its story.”

He continued by noting the tremendous effort that goes into the charity’s offering, and the big challenges ahead financially.

“We’ve managed for 35 years without States funding, thanks to the amazing generosity of islanders. But with rising costs and growing needs, we’ll need to explore how to secure the future without losing the community spirit that defines us.”

Les Bourgs Hospice will celebrate its 35th anniversary in 2026, meaning Mr Creasey has been involved for most of that time.

Chief Executive, Rob Jones praised his work over the past three decades.

“Anthony’s commitment, insight and calm leadership have guided the Hospice through key moments in its history.

“On behalf of everyone at Les Bourgs, we thank him for his decades of dedication and wish him a happy and well-earned retirement from the Board.”
