There might be no such thing as a free lunch, but parents in Guernsey could get a free breakfast for their kids, during next week’s half term.

Muse Cafe & Deli, near the Weighbridge roundabout, is offering a free breakfast to children every weekday morning from Monday 26 to Friday 30 October.

For every paying adult, one child eats free from a dedicated kids’ breakfast menu between 08:00 and 11:30.

Richard Griffin, owner of Muse, said: “Half term is brilliant for the kids and expensive for the grown-ups.

“Five days of keeping everyone fed and entertained adds up fast, and we wanted to do something that genuinely takes a bit of the pressure off.

“Bring the kids down, have a proper breakfast on the seafront, and we’ll look after the little ones’ bill.”

He said Muse has “always been a place where parents feel comfortable bringing children”, so it was their way of “saying thank you to the families who support us all year round, and a chance for anyone who hasn’t been to Muse for a while to come and see what we’re about”.

The kids’ menu includes stacked American pancakes, waffles, porridge, granola and yoghurt, cheese toasties, and poached or scrambled eggs on toast or a muffin.

Booking in advance is recommended as tables are expected to be busy, so families are encouraged to arrive early.
