The man, 43 – who has not yet been named in the media – has been charged with five counts of making indecent images of children, right across the spectrum of severity.
The Sentencing Advisory Panel Categories for dealing with indecent images of children are numbered one to five according to their content, one being the least serious and five being the most serious.
All of the alleged offences took place in Guernsey.
No plea was entered when the man appeared before the court yesterday, and the case was adjourned until 10 July where it is thought the case will be committed to the Royal Court.
The accused was released on bail until that time.
