Guernsey Police say officers will be more visible in some of the island’s busiest locations over the coming days after two separate incidents where men made women feel uncomfortable.

Both incidents occurred on Monday, with one at Grandes Rocques and the other in St Peter Port.

Guernsey Police have confirmed that one man was seen taking photographs at the beach, while the other man was approaching women in town.

In response to questions from Express, a spokesperson for Guernsey Police confirmed officers have been carrying out enquiries, and said that officers will be patrolling busy places in case anything else happens.

“With the hot weather, we will have additional patrols around beaches and beauty spots over the coming days. Anyone with any concerns can contact police on 222222 or speak to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

Both incidents have been documented on social media and shared multiple times.

Guernsey Police urged caution to anyone sharing the posts and commenting on what might have happened.

“We encourage people to report suspicious or concerning activity to us directly so that officers can assess and respond appropriately. We are also aware of social media posts circulating in relation to both incidents.

“We would like to remind the community that speculation and the sharing of unverified claims can cause real and lasting damage. Posts of this nature can escalate quickly, placing undue pressure on individuals and diverting police resources away from genuine policing needs. They may also amount to harassment.”
