Guernsey Police have confirmed a man’s body has been found at Grandes Rocques.

A police spokesperson said it is believed to be 64-year-old Steven Le Breton who had been reported missing yesterday.

It’s understood a member of the public found the body this morning, with a police and civil protection presence reported at Grandes Rocques from very early.

The identity of the man has not been confirmed but a search had been underway for Mr Le Breton since he was reported missing on 23 February.

The search had initially been focused around areas near Saumarez Park and Le Villocq.

“Police are now investigating the matter and it will be referred to inquest,” said the police spokesperson.

“Officers have liaised with his family this morning, and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this tragic and difficult time.”
