Sarnia Arts & Crafts Club Summer Exhibition

With the exception of the war years, Sarnia Arts & Crafts Club’s Summer Exhibition has been held every year since the club was formed 101 years ago.  You’ll find a fantastic array of paintings, crafts, ceramics and much more on display as well as a great selection of cards and souvenirs.

The exhibition, which this year has been kindly sponsored by Canaccord Wealth, features unique and original work from some of Guernsey’s most talented artists and crafters. Exhibits include paintings in a variety of styles and mediums, textile work, ceramics, leather work, handmade jewellery, hand painted silk and crafts of all kinds.

It’s an exhibition not to be missed – particularly if you are looking for a truly special gift or unique piece of artwork for your home.

The showcase will be open daily at Blanchelande College, 10am-4.30pm from this Friday the 1st August until Saturday 9th August, with a late night opening on Thursday 7th August until 7.30pm.

Exhibition closes 3.30pm, Saturday 9th August.

Exhibition at Sark Art Gallery: Ecosphere Collection

Got a Sark trip planned?

The brand-new Sark Art Gallery and Museum has another new exhibition opening this Friday the 1st of August… Ecosphere Collection by Olympia McEwan!

Alongside her various portrait campaigns and commissions over the last 20 years, Olympia began painting wildflowers and pollinators in 2018. Since then she has created two very distinct practices, describing both subjects as “a joyful reflection of [her] love for people and their stories, as well as the beauty of nature and its fragility.”

Olympia has had her work shown in several exhibitions, including at the Greenhouse Gallery at Guernsey Museum at Candie, the Gatehouse Gallery at Elizabeth College, the National Trust of Guernsey’s Art at the Park gallery, and the Royal Court House.

Some of her portrait paintings are also currently on display at the Guille-Alles Library and the Princess Elizabeth Hospital. She also has several of her portrait paintings in the permanent collection of the Guernsey Museums & Galleries.

See more information about Olympia on her website HERE.

Open every day, 10am – 4pm.
