Art for Guernsey is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a community focussed series of workshops and talks.

The first led by James Colmer, fresh off the back of his participation in the exhibition “The Lidded Lands”

Mr Colmer’s workshop will look at ‘Charcoal Seascapes’, and is taking place tomorrow from 11.00 – 13.00 (Saturday 7 February).

Then on Sunday 8 February, a free workshop for children with additional needs is being held by Olga Frunze, on ‘Art Therapy and Sensory Playtime’.

That’s taking place from 11.00 – 12.00, at the organisation’s Mansell Street Gallery.

Throughout February there’ll be talks and workshops from a variety of artists including Bridget Spinney, Daniel Hosego, Georgie Prow, Noako Mauger, Warren Mauger, Leo Dieleman, Ryan Dawe, Mimi, Tim Gaudion, and Sally Ede-golightly.

As the month-long celebration of Art for Guernsey begins its Founder and Chairman, David Ummels, said: “2026 is a very special year for Art for Guernsey as we celebrate our 10th anniversary. To mark this milestone, our first initiative is to dedicate the entire month of February to the community.

“During this time we will deliver a diverse programme of workshops, offering participants a wide range of experiences across different techniques and mediums.”

Mr Ummel’s continued: “These workshops will also provide a platform for both local and international artists to shine, celebrating not only creativity but also diversity.”

Upcoming talks include:

Saturday (11am–1pm): Charcoal Seascapes with James Colmer

Sunday (11am): Art Therapy Workshop for children with special needs with Volga Frunze — free to attend

Tuesday 12th: Celebrating the Year of the Horse — Chinese calligraphy and tea ceremony with MiMi Chao, a truly theatrical and immersive experience
