Naoko Mauger is hosting an Enso workshop this Saturday as part of Art for Guernsey’s 10th-anniversary celebrations.
The event begins with a talk by Ms Mauger regarding her sumi ink works, which have been professionally mounted in Japan. She will also discuss the Zen concept of Ichigo Ichie—the idea of treasuring unrepeatable moments.
Following the talk, guests will be guided through the process of painting an Enso, a Zen circle representing balance and connection. The session concludes with traditional Japanese tea.
It’s the final workshop part of a month-long series of community-focused events organised by Art for Guernsey to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
Talks and workshops have featured James Colmer, Bridget Spinney, Daniel Hosego, Georgie Prow, Warren Mauger, Leo Dieleman, Ryan Dawe, Mimi, Tim Gaudion, and Sally Ede-golightly.
This week’s Enso workshop is taking place tomorrow (Saturday 28 February), from 11:00 to 13:00 at the Art for Guernsey Gallery on Mansell Street in St Peter Port.
