The latest punctuality data shows Aurigny flights are ‘on time’ 90% of the time.

The statistics for October put the States owned airline ahead of its performance in September, when 84% of flights were deemed to be on time.

A flight is considered to be ‘on time’ if it arrives within 15 minutes of its scheduled time, and excludes any flights affected by weather related delays or Air Traffic Control issues.

When including weather and ATC issues, Aurigny’s on-time arrival rate in October dropped to 85%.

Both statistics put Aurigny ahead of other airlines flying in and out of Gatwick Airport – where the average was 74% in October.

Guernsey’s States owned airline also achieved a 95% ‘Completion Rate’ in October, which represents the total percentage of planned flights that were operated, but excludes those impacted by weather, ATC restrictions, and ‘medevac’ requirements.

The average ‘Completion Rate’ for all airlines using Gatwick in October was 94%.

Philip Smallwood, Chief Operating Officer, said the airline is also championing its customer service with the team hitting allocated targets.

The company has claimed it answered more than 3,300 customer calls in October, with an average wait time of 1 minute 59 seconds, just inside its target of 2 minutes.

“We are pleased to be able to demonstrate sustained operational performance over several months now,” said Mr Smallwood. “Delivering operational performance our customers can rely on is central to Aurigny’s values and motivates all our people, who know that their daily efforts are making a measurable difference.

“As we get closer to the end of the year, winter weather can pose new challenges as we work to maintain these high standards. However, there is no doubt that we are now in a vastly better position to deliver operational excellence for our customers.”
