Bagot Road is due to re-open later today after repairs on a suspected gas leak in the area were completed last night.

Island Energy engineers were made aware of the incident in St Saviour yesterday, and a section of the road had to be excavated.

Drivers were urged to avoid the area last night whilst temporary lights were in operation.

In an update provided this morning, a spokesperson for Island Energy confirmed that repairs were successfully completed last night, and resurfacing would take place today.

“It is anticipated that the road will fully re-open later today,” they added.

“Island Energy would like to apologise to those affected while its engineers worked quickly to resolve the situation safely.”
