The Northern Warriors won with their float, the Yellow Submarine.

The runner up for the Senior Prix D’Honneur was It’s a Kind of Magic by the Fawcett family.

Among other entrants were the staff and residents of St John’s home at Saumarez Park who entered for the first time, decorating a variety of wheelchairs and frames.

Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory and Prince Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle inspired some of the floats while a number of decorated bikes were entered by younger children, with a strong turnout in the fancy dress competitions too.

Away from the Battle of Flowers, the wet weather during Thursday morning didn’t deter show goers with a large crowd visiting the fur and feather and craft tents on day two of the show.

The beer tent was busy with a large crowd watching the bands, and staying out late for the fireworks.

The show isn’t quite over though with the organisers now continuing the take down. Any volunteers are asked to help out today or tomorrow.
