A busy outdoor scene at a community event, with a large white tent and several smaller colourful stalls set up in an open grassy area. Numerous people are gathered around, some seated and some walking, while many soap bubbles float across the foreground. Tall trees line the background beneath a partly cloudy sky, and a tall white structure resembling a small tower or fairground feature stands near the centre of the image.

Charities, companies, and individuals are all in with a chance of being the headline sponsor of this year’s North Show for just £250 – but only if Lady Luck shines on them.

The Show’s committee is raffling off the headline sponsor spot again – with 50 tickets available for £250 each.

The winner will be picked on 6 May with the money from the other 49 entrants also used to support the show.

A spokesperson said the package to sponsor “one of Guernsey’s most beloved and iconic events” was worth “significantly more” than £250.

The winner would “enjoy high-profile branding throughout the show, extensive media coverage, and prime promotional opportunities to showcase their brand to thousands of attendees”, they said.

Last year’s winners, Citizens Advice Guernsey, said the sponsorship was “a fantastic platform for us to highlight the work we do and to connect with the public in a fun, inclusive way”.

Lucky losers

It certainly sounds like a great deal for the winner, but even the losers get something for their ticket price as anyone entering would also be “advertised throughout the show”.

Individuals can donate their sponsorship to a local charity or other organisation if they want to.

Organisers encouraged anyone interested to sign up quickly, as only 50 spots are available.

This year’s North Show takes place on 26 and 27 August at Saumarez Park.

The agricultural and community show, which has been running for over 100 years, also features the Battle of Flowers – a colorful parade of floats decorated by locals with flowers.
