The annual ‘Christmas Toy Run’ – arranged by the Guernsey Bikers Group in association with the Widow’s sons of Guernsey and Alderney – will start at 10:00 on Sunday.

Participating riders are asked to meet at Portelet with the convoy moving on at 11:00.

Anyone planning to take part is asked to bring a toy or other gift such as a magazine or sweets.

The convoy will move on, heading north and through town, before riding to the hospital.

GBG says when they get to the PEH they will be meeting a delegation from Frossard Ward at a designated meeting spot outside the Bulstrode House entrance. The hospital re-introduced masks and daily LFTs for all staff and visitors this week amidst rising numbers of covid cases so none of the bikers will be going on to the ward itself.

The gifs will be handed over and given to existing in-patients or be left under the Frossard Ward Christmas tree for any children admitted over the festive period.

GBG says “inexpensive gifts are encouraged” and that they should be “child safe and marked as per the appropriate age”.

The organisers said cash donations will also be collected during the ride, going to a charity to be announced on the day.

All traffic rules apply for riders taking part in the Toy Run.
