A letter to help passengers who booked directly with Blue Islands using a debit or credit card to claim money back has been published by the Civil Aviation Authority.

The ‘Negative Response Letter‘ was released yesterday to help with debit or credit card claims.

Passengers who booked directly with Blue Islands may be required to provide this document – alongside travel documents and proof of payment – to their bank to enable a claim to be made.

The letter states that Blue Islands cancelled all further flights on 14 November 2025, and entered administration on 17 November 2025.

It notes that Blue Islands is not covered by the ATOL protection scheme, but explains that customers who booked directly with the airline and paid by credit card “may” be
protected under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974.

Customers who did not book directly with Blue Islands and purchased tickets through an intermediary, such as another airline or booking agent, should contact them in the first instance.
