The organisation that oversees the Children’s Tribunal System (CTS) is looking for two new board members.
The CTS makes decisions about the care, protection and support of children and young people at risk or in need of intervention.
Two out of eight places are up for grabs next year on the Convenor and Tribunal Board – the independent body that supports the CTS.
Ashley Rawles, Chair, said: “This is a chance to play a meaningful role in public service and directly improve the lives of young people in our island community.”
Members of the board work closely with the CTS giving leadership, direction, support and guidance to help it fulfil its function.
It also works with Deputies and civil servants to support the Children’s Convenor, President of the Tribunal, and the Child, Youth and Community Tribunal as part of the wider child welfare system.
The board is looking for members who have experience working with young people or the legal frameworks that support them, with each serving a three-year term.
Mrs Rawles added: “We are looking for individuals who share our values and understand the challenges children face.
