This is the first time that the vaccine has been available at GP practices. It is part of a new joint initiative between the States and primary care providers to help accelerate the booster programme.
Anyone wanting their vaccine at one of the GP surgeries must go their normal practice where they are registered. Each practice has only its own patients’ data to be able to vaccinate them.
Each of today’s walk-in clinics is at a slightly different time, as follows:
- Queen’s Road Surgery between 08:30 and 13:00
- St. Sampson’s Surgery at Grandes Maisons Road between 09:00 and 14:00
- St Martin’s Surgery at Les Camps du Moulin between 08:00 and 14:00
- Community Vaccination Centre at Beau Sejour between 09:30 and 20:00
Booster vaccines are available at those places and times for anyone aged 30 or over who had a second dose of the vaccine on or before 18 September.
These walk-in clinics are primarily aimed at accelerating vaccine boosters. But first and second doses are also available.
Anyone attending any of the walk-in clinics should take a lateral flow test before heading to a clinic and should wear a face covering at the clinic.
