He was in the island on Liberation Day at its official opening after they opened to the public last summer, bringing the sport to the island for the first time.
Padel Tennis is a racket sport, which combines elements of tennis, squash and badminton. It’s played in a glass box court, using a solid padel without strings. It is estimated that more than ten million people worldwide have played it.
The national tournament this weekend is the fourth event of the season. It is a Silver ranked tournament which will be played on the three recently installed courts in Guernsey.
Players had to register by Wednesday 30 May and they can play in more than one category.
The tournament starts at 09:00.
