The events, organised by Culture & Heritage, have proved popular in the past, with locals and visitors dancing under the moonlight.

This time round, The Bowie Experience, which is described as “the most successful David Bowie tribute show” will visit Guernsey on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 June and the show will feature “all of the pop icon’s greatest hits” with an “unforgettable journey of sound and vision” through David Bowie’s golden years.

With an all-British cast, authentic costumes, songs and stage sets, the concerts are described as a “must-see” for all Bowie fans.

The Committee for Education Sport & Culture President, Deputy Matt Fallaize said: “The Committee are delighted to be able to give the people of Guernsey the opportunity to enjoy such a spectacular show set against the beautiful backdrop of Castle Cornet”.

Nikki Symons, Head of Marketing & Events at Castle Cornet, said the concerts are not revenue drivers for the States but are arranged to benefit the community and to increase visitor numbers to one of the island’s attractions: “The Castle is being used for music events to encourage those who would not normally visit an historic site to visit and to come back again.  It also gives new and regular visitors  the opportunity to enjoy the Castle in a totally different context, to experience great live music outdoors in an amazing historic setting on a summers evening.”
