Aurigny has confirmed its check in systems are all now working normally, after a global IT issue caused issues for the airline and others for around 24 hours.
The Passenger Service System (PSS) outage yesterday affected more than 50 carriers and some are still affected this afternoon.
Aurigny’s system restoration means the airline’s agents can now check in customers at the airport in accordance with standard procedure, and customers can also make new bookings and change existing bookings as normal via aurigny.com and the airline’s call centre.
The airline says it continues to monitor the system closely today. However, there is no significant impact on the schedules, nor issues causing significant inconvenience for customers.
The airline is also still advising those travelling to bring a copy of their booking reference and ID to the airport as a precaution and to check in at the airport rather than online.
A spokesperson for Aurigny said: “We sincerely thank all our customers for their patience and understanding, as well as their cooperation with the travel advice we have shared – this has meant we have got everyone where they need to be with minimal impact to our schedules.
“We’d also like to thank all our teams for their hard work and dedication, with an extra special thanks for our IT team, many who have worked into the small hours alongside our supplier to resolve the issue here at Aurigny for our customers and community.”
Paris offer extended
Aurigny has also confirmed that its popular ‘Kids Fly Fare-Free’ offer on its Guernsey to Paris route has been extended until midnight on 10 April as a result of the issues with the Passenger Service System.
The offer was due to end on 8 April, but customers were unable to use the discount on the final day of the promotion due to the temporary booking issues.
