The States-owned utility has reported a potential data protection breach to the Data Protection Authority, since the video was recorded via CCTV footage at a Guernsey Water managed site.
Guernsey Water is responsible for the St Saviours reservoir, the Millenium Walk and the impounding dam itself. The site is under 24-hour surveillance.
“We are taking this incident very seriously,” said Managing Director at Guernsey Water, Steve Langlois.
“We have reported the incident to Guernsey Police and to the Data Protection Authority, and will be assisting them in any further investigations.
“We are also carrying out our own internal investigation, which is already underway.”
