It has been entertaining staff and patients ever since and continues to operate off the back of a crew of volunteers.
Simon Gallienne is the Programme Manager and Committee Chairman, he has spearheaded a fresh push for new voices, whether it be a total newcomer to radio or a seasoned professional.
“We are looking for volunteers from Year 7 students up to adults of any age and gender,” he said.
“No experience is needed as full training will be given… There is no obligation to join just by enquiring and looking around and even if they start training and decide it is not for them… it is not an issue.“

Simon said the station is looking for a regular commitment of an hour or two a week.
He continued by saying broadcasting a show on Jubilee Radio “is also something that can be added to any CV… and can perhaps help [students] get started in a career in the media.
“Many famous radio presenters over the years have had their start on Hospital Radio.“
Jubilee Radio is also looking for an engineer. “This would need to be someone that ideally has some experience in or some knowledge of maintaining broadcasting equipment,” said Simon.
Jubilee Radio is also broadcast online to listeners around the world.
