Two art organisations have open calls for artists ending a week today.

For those interested in taking part in either Guernsey Arts’ ‘The Gourmet Exhibition’ or Art for Guernsey’s ‘Royal Golden Guernsey Goat Exhibition’ the countdown clock is on, with both deadlines falling on Friday 24 April.

Guernsey Arts: The Gourmet Exhibition

Guernsey Arts is holding an exhibition to coincide with the launch of The Big Eat, with submissions requested inspired by local produce, ranging from dairy-themed still lives to depictions of culinary professionals at work.

While all entries will be displayed on social media and the Guernsey Arts website, a selection will be chosen for a physical gallery exhibition.

There’s a £10 entry fee for pieces selected for the gallery, and artists can apply via Google Form.

Art for Guernsey: Royal Golden Guernsey Goat Exhibition

Art for Guernsey has been inviting artists to submit work featuring the Royal Golden Guernsey goat to support a conservation project.

All mediums and styles are welcome, including abstract, sculptural, and photographic interpretations.

Applications are invited and open until 17 April through Google Form.

A total of 20 shortlisted pieces will then be exhibited at the Art for Guernsey Gallery from 14 May to 13 June, with submissions needing to be ready to hang and received at their Mansell Street Gallery by midday next Friday.

There’s a £10 entry fee per artwork, which will go to the Royal Golden Guernsey Goat Foundation.
