With return flights now costing around half what they were a year ago, Aurigny says it is carrying a third more passengers than Blue Islands was when it flew between Guernsey and Jersey.

Figures released by Aurigny show a 32% increase on the Guernsey-Jersey route when comparing passenger numbers between February 2025 and 2026.

The airline says 5,574 passengers booked to fly between the islands with them in February this year compared to the 4,235 carried by Blue Islands in February last year.

“This marks the routes strongest performance in three years and reflects the airline’s successful stewardship of the inter-island service in its first month as solo operator,” said Aurigny.

Aurigny says its fares are currently “from just £49-99 one-way representing less than £100 return” – while adding that prior to Aurigny returning to the inter island route, “fares were almost £200 return”.

Philip Saunders, Chief Commercial Officer at Aurigny, said: “An increase of 32% in passenger numbers is a powerful endorsement of our approach to grow the market between Guernsey and Jersey. We very much look forward to working together with all our partners across the Bailiwicks to build on this momentum for the social and economic wellbeing for all Channel islanders.”

Zoe Gosling, Lead Marketing Officer for Visit Guernsey, said: “We welcome the news of an increase in passengers on Aurigny’s Jersey route. It is encouraging to see the uptake on this inter-island service, making it easier and more cost-effective for islanders and visitors to travel between the islands.

“Like all the inter-island travel options now available, this service supports marketing efforts into Jersey which, in turn, boost the Guernsey visitor economy, and also makes two centre breaks easier for those wishing to explore all of the Channel Islands. More than that it connects our Island communities and strengthens our relationships, with the aim of seeing a return to the levels of inter-island travel previously experienced.”
