Guernsey’s Inshore Lifeboat is being shipped to Poole today for repairs.

The Harold Hobbs was recently damaged, and as a vital part of the lifeboat service for the islands the repairs were deemed essential.

A replacement vessel was brought to Guernsey on Tuesday, by Channel Seaways, ready to cover for the Harold Hobbs during its absence.

The RNLI said the crew “remain committed to maintaining full operational capacity” while the Inshore Lifeboat is out of action.

The RNLI spokesperson added that they wanted to “ thank the community for their understanding during this period”.
