The first bids have already been placed ahead of the Dolphin Discovery Trail auction happening in two weeks.
All 62 statues will be sold on Wednesday 17 September, with the money raised being split between the GSPCA and Autism Guernsey.
GSPCA Manager, Steve Byrne said it’s already looking like it will be a good night of fundraising for both charities.
“We are delighted to announce we are now taking reserve bids for the 62 dolphins in aid of the GSPCA and Autism Guernsey which all bar the Herm dolphin have been collected. It’s been incredible to see so many people enjoying the Dolphin Discovery Trail and supporting two fantastic causes. The Dolphin Discovery Trail has brought so much joy to the island, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who took part, sponsored a dolphin, or helped behind the scenes. The funds raised will make a real difference to the animals in our care and the vital work we do. Tickets are now on sale and we have already have our first bids in on dolphins so don’t miss out on owning one of these incredible pieces of art by a reserve bid or coming along on the 17th September”

61 of the 62 dolphins have been collected from their public display locations and are now back in storage for any repairs and cleaning before they go to their permanent homes.
The dolphin in Herm will be brought back to Guernsey when the weather permits a safe crossing to St Peter Port Harbour.
Once ready for the auction, each dolphin will have a reserve price of £500.
Any early bids can be emailed to steve@gspca.org.gg.
The dolphins will also be available for public viewings at the Charities’ Seafront Sunday on 14 September.

Andrew Sparkes, Director of Autism Guernsey, said it will be a colourful spectacle before they are all sold off.
“The trail has brought joy, colour, and community spirit to Guernsey. We’re thrilled with the response and grateful to all the sponsors, artists, and supporters. The funds raised will make a real difference to those we support, and we can’t wait to celebrate the dolphins at the upcoming events. The trail has raised awareness and support for Autism Guernsey as well as the GSPCA, and we’re excited to see the dolphins go to new homes at the auction.”
