With growing anticipation from hungry customers, Domino’s Pizza has confirmed it is ‘dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s’ before it can open its doors in Guernsey.
Local planning rules have delayed the opening, with an application currently pending to allow signs to be put up outside its premises at the Longstore.

Express first revealed the takeaway was opening in the island in September 2025.
It has more than 1,300 stores in the UK and over 22,000 worldwide, including two in Jersey.
Promoting its first Guernsey store on Facebook as “the best kept secret in town”, Domino’s has frequently been asked when it would open.
The chain’s PR agency has now told Express that it is in the “final stages” of preparation before opening.
“Opening the first Domino’s Pizza store in Guernsey has been a long and thorough process, and we’re pleased to say we’re now in the final stages,” the spokesperson said.

“As with any new business on the island, there are a number of approvals and processes to complete, and we want to make sure every i is dotted and every t is crossed before we open our doors.”
Unlike some other places, Guernsey has strict planning rules governing the use of buildings, advertising materials, and other matters.
Planning permission was given to convert part of the Coop Longstore into a takeaway outlet in September last year, with work then starting to convert the building.
Permission is now needed to put up signs for both Domino’s and the Coop.
A decision on that is expected soon, with the deadline for representations to the Planning Service passing on 23 October.
As well as navigating planning rules, Domino’s has confirmed it has had a “fantastic response” to its on-island recruitment campaign.
The takeaway chain has posted numerous adverts to Facebook promoting its available roles.
“We’ve had a fantastic response to our recruitment drive, and we can’t wait to start serving our fresh, delicious pizza to the local community,” said the Domino’s spokesperson.
