The sun’s out and everyone’s enjoying the Mediterranean-style weather – well almost everyone.
Spare a thought for people who work outside – rather than in air-conditioned offices – especially Guernsey’s postal workers.
Guernsey Post is keen to keep its workforce “comfortable” during the heatwave, it said, and will allow them to wear their own clothes, along with a Guernsey Post-branded hi-visibility vest.
So, if you see someone delivering letters and parcels – but not wearing a Guernsey Post uniform – the message is ‘don’t panic’.
“Please don’t worry”, about spokesperson said, adding that all posties would be carrying their Guernsey Post ID, and members of the public would be “very welcome” see it if asked.
