Guernsey could see another airline flying in and out of the Bailiwick, after the President of Economic Development confirmed that EasyJet and LoganAir have both been in conversation with the States of Guernsey.

Following the collapse of BlueIslands, crucial questions arose on the future air routes across the Channel Islands.

In the time since we’ve seen Aurigny announce their intention to further their services to the island, and British Airways launch a route between the Bailiwick and Heathrow airport

Now it’s emerged that EasyJet and LoganAir are in discussion with Guernsey’s Economic Development Committee.

President of ED, Deputy Sasha Kazantseva-Miller, said: “The Committee for Economic Development is always seeking to have conversations with airlines, both new and our existing partners. These conversations are almost always confidential to both parties.

“However, in the interests of transparency there have been recent conversations with easyJet and LoganAir. At this stage, we cannot comment in any more detail.

“It is the role of the Committee to be having these discussions and exploring options to improve the islands’ connectivity, and as we explore developing a new air policy framework, I think it would be more surprising if we were not having these conversations.”
