IT upgrades, including issuing every team with remote devices as part of a wider digital transformation, will mean there will be more bobbies on the beat going forward.
Police say the changes, which will be fully implemented by the end of the month, will see processes changed to make the most remote working.
The rollout will see Microsoft 365 activated for all staff.
Over 60 miles of cabling has also been laid at Police HQ to improve connectivity and stability of systems for staff.
Chief Inspector Liam Johnson promised significant improvements to day-to-day policing through modern IT systems.
“Tangibly, this will mean uniformed officers can spend more time out in the community and less time behind desks in police headquarters.
“This move is in response to feedback from the island that people want to see a more visible police presence. While we do always have officers on patrol, we also know our officers also have to spend a lot of time at a computer completing reports, submitting statements and filing work.
“Being able to complete all of that remotely will mean officers can do so from a vehicle immediately after a job, meaning there is less time between that job, and an officer being back on patrol.”
