Foot passengers arriving at St Peter Port Harbour now have a new way to explore Guernsey, following the launch of a shared electric mobility service by EVie Guernsey.

The new hire car scheme has been launched in partnership with Guernsey Ports.

It means there are now two dedicated parking spaces for EVie vehicles at the northern end of the New Jetty, just 50 metres from the terminal building exit.

“We are pleased to introduce a shared mobility option at St Peter Port Harbour,” said David Buddery, Commercial Project Manager for Guernsey Ports.

“EVie’s on-demand service provides a new way for foot passengers, cruise ship passengers and other visitors to explore the island at their leisure. EVie’s eco-friendly vehicles can be booked online, collected from the harbour, and dropped off in the same location, which is a quick and convenient way for visitors to make the most of a day trip or short stay in Guernsey.”

EVie says its aim is to provide a convenient on-island travel option for visitors, including cruise ship passengers and day-trippers.

“We are delighted to be working with our partners, Guernsey Ports and Guernsey Post, to offer electric shared mobility services at the harbour,” said Barrie Duerden, the Guernsey-based representative of EVie.

“Foot passengers will be able to rent our newly acquired electric Renault Zoes by the hour from dedicated parking just 50 metres from the terminal building exit.”

Vehicles can be booked for up to 18 hours using the EVie app, which also facilitates unlocking of the vehicles, and payment.
