The School of Popular Music showcases the talents of its tutors each year, with this year’s Christmas song a poignant tribute to Shane MacGowan.
Tyler Edmunds and co at SOPM had already decided to perform Fairytale of New York this year before the Pogues frontman died at the end of November.
While building to the release of their annual festive video, they teased us – and tutor Peter Mitchell – with the below:
Yesterday, Sunday 17 December the team at SOPM hit publish on their rendition of Fairytale of New York – a rousing performance of the Christmas Classic in a place where Shane MacGowan would have truly felt at home – an Irish pub.
