A community-led film night dedicated to showcasing contemporary foreign-language cinema with subtitles rather than dubbing will return for one screening.
Subs Not Dubs will return to Mallard Cinema on Thursday 25 June with a screening of ‘The Last Viking’ (2025), the latest dark comedy film from Anders Thomas Jensen starring Mads Mikkelsen.
Wynter Tyson, founder of Subs Not Dubs, said: “Jensen’s ‘Riders of Justice’ is one of the most accomplished comedies that I’ve screened in almost ten years of showing films, combined with the presence of regular collaborators such as Mads Mikkelsen, and ‘The Last Viking’ promises to be another off-beat gem and film best experienced with a crowd.”
The film follows a recently released prisoner as he plans to recover stolen loot that his brother, Manfred (Mikkelsen), buried in the woods.
However, when Manfred can’t remember the exact location, they set out on an increasingly chaotic and emotional journey to find it.
