Ben Gregg has been awarded the British Empire Medal for his service to the parish of St Martin’s.

Mr Gregg spent 26 years as a member of the parish’s Douzaine, including 10 years as Dean.

He also served as the Procureur of the Poor, aiming to ensure the responsible and compassionate distribution of funds to the most vulnerable parishioners.

It’s not just his dedication to the parish that’s earned him a BEM and the respect of the Monarch however.

Mr Gregg’s efforts as a volunteer minibus driver for Age Concern, and his time as a dedicated supporter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society were also noted by those who nominated him.

Mr Gregg said he was pleased to be honoured with the award as part of the King’s Birthday Honours List, but he modestly wanted little fuss.
