The former-Guernsey based obstetrician and gynaecologist, Ali Shokouh-Amiri is facing an updated list of allegations as his Medical Practitioners Tribunal continues in Manchester this month.

The Medical Specialist Group employed Mr Shokouh-Amiri as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist between October 206 and August 2019, when he left the partnership.

Six of his patients in Guernsey have made serious allegations against him relating to their treatment, including intimate examinations and surgeries, during that time.

The long list of allegations has been updated – with some technical changes, but no material changes to the allegations made.

The allegations he has already admitted include removing the ovaries of two women without their consent.

He has also admitted some other claims including hugging one patient, and failing to have a chaperone present while carrying out intimate examinations on the same patient on at least three occasions. A fourth count which was previously listed as ‘admitted’ is now labelled ‘to be determined’ in the updated allegations sheet that has been seen by Express.

Mr Shokouh-Amiri has also admitted failing to arrange treatment for another patient, and again he admits that he failed to have a chaperone present while carrying out intimate examinations on her.

Many other allegations – including making repeated comments about masturbation, and the size of a patient’s husband’s penis, and touching patients intimately, remain “to be determined”.

Mr Shokouh-Amiri’s tribunal commenced last month at the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service in Manchester, with his fate to be determined by three panel members, led by legally qualified Chair Mr Stephen Gowland.

If he is found guilty of ‘Misconduct’ the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service can make a decision about his fitness to practice.

A verdict is not expected before the middle of this month with the Tribunal due to conclude on 14 February.
