It’s open to the public from today, until Sunday 5 January, seven days a week except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Some students got a sneak preview though, with pupils from Le Murier first on the ice yesterday as a special treat.

They were given the opportunity to be the first on the ice, thanks to CT Plus and Only Fools and Donkeys who worked together to provide them with an ‘Amazing Journey’.

Next week, the same opportunity is being given to pupils from Le Rondin.

The teenagers from Le Murier had an added challenge as part of their ‘Amazing Journey’ though, with some of them working towards their Duke of Edinburgh silver award. As part of that they were also asked to cook a Christmas Dinner on the ice as one of their outdoor challenges!

CT Plus provided the transport for the children and their teachers, while Only Fools and Donkeys covered the cost of the ice skating for all.
