Jeremy Bowen, the BBC’s International Editor, has been present for major moments in the region since 1989 and has written his views on its complex past and fragmented present in The Making of the Modern Middle East – a Personal History.

The audience can expect tales of people fighting on or living near the front lines, the power struggles with leaders, the power games with external forces, and internal battles for political, religious and economic control.

Those already booked for the cancelled event can attend automatically, but some tickets are still available for the event which takes place at 19:30 on September 28 in St James concert hall.
