Having reopened for a matter of days, Kings Road is once again closed but this time due to unplanned emergency repairs.

Kings Road had been shut for an eight-week period – from Monday 7 July to Friday 29 August 2025 – for essential upgrades to electricity cables and to connect new services to properties in the area.

According to the States and Guernsey Electricity, the work was necessary to meet increased demand and ensure a reliable power supply for local residents and businesses.

At the time of closure the utility company stated that the project was deliberately scheduled during the school holidays to minimise disruption.

The work was completed within its planned timeframe, however the road has shut once again, this time to give Guernsey Water the chance to repair a water leak.

There is no confirmed end date for the works in the messaging to the public, but according to the States online Road Traffic Summary, Geomarine could potentially have the works wrapped up by the end of the day.

Access to most properties and businesses on Kings Road is from the Les Croutes side. However, access to Clermont Interiors is via Mount Row.

Meanwhile cyclists can pass the roadworks, but they are advised to dismount and proceed with care.
